Brianna Walczak Memorial Scholarship was established in honor of the former SABA student who attended the Academy during her high school years and met with an untimely death in May of 2016.
Applicants for the prestigious full tuition scholarship are interviewed by three panelists composed of two former ballet classmates who were close to Brianna and knew of her great love for ballet – Carrie Ferguson of Janesville and Heather Olson of Madison -- as well as the Academy director.
Candidates must be age 16 or older, achieve Level III training, have perfect attendance the year prior to submitting an application, and demonstrate a number of traits that have been identified as strong attributes of Walczak and her attitude towards her ballet studies.
A set of questions intended to ascertain the character of the applicant are posed and after careful deliberation of the answers a recipient is chosen.
Any student interested in applying for this full tuition scholarship should contact the Director to receive an application. Forms are due by August 30 for the next season.
